Activities at Newton

The activity calendar is like a quilt made by many hands with each member of the sewing circle contributing a little here, a little there, always working to make the best quilt ever.

It is a mix of staff and residents nipping here, tucking there to make the calendar fit the needs of residents and patients.

A good activities calendar is one that reflects the interests of the patients and residents. We are a very diverse group here at Newton Health Care Center and we need to hear what your interests are. Together we can make the best activity quilt ever.

We continue to work on improving our environment so that it is a more pleasant place in which to live. The wallpapering in the Lobby and Bradford Unit has begun. Much of the painting of the trim has already been completed in the Lobby and the two activity rooms beside the elevators have been re-papered.

We are working hard at upgrading the front door. In the interest of time we will start with replacing the door with a handicapped accessible, automatic door.

If you remember we had discussed a double door system with a small vestibule, this is still the ultimate objective but we don’t want the wait until all of the design and approval stages are complete before having a more convenient secure door.
